    FINNASIA FOOD SAFETY FORUM

    FOR FISHERIES PRODUCTS

    The FINNASIA FOOD SAFETY FORUM FOR FISHERIES PRODUCTS (FSFF) is a Sino-Finnish venture network enhancing food safety in aqua-business.

    The main aim of the network is to network and develop Finnish food safety and environmental expertise, in partnership with Chinese stakeholders, in the following tasks:
    • environmental implications in fisheries and aquaculture
    • sustainable production in fisheries
    • total hygiene management
    • cold-chain know-how and technology
    • packaging technology
    • warehousing and logistics
    • diagnostics
    • risk management and administration
    • assessment and certification
    • evaluation, monitoring and inspection
    • research
    • education and training
    The network aims are:
    • to build individual, institutional, organizational and B-B links between Finland and China
    • to support networking and capacity building
    • to encourage pro-activeness in advocating food safety in fisheries
    • to promote dialogue and knowledge sharing
    The FINNASIA FSFF is a national venture of the Finnish Ministry of Work and Employment's Cenre of Expertise Programme funded and supported by the National Food Development Competence Cluster Programme, Finnish Cleantech Cluster Programme and Kuopio Innovation Ltd.

    During the initiation phase of the venture from September-December 2008, the FINNASIA FSFF is interested in networking and is searching for partners and stakeholders, both in Finland and China from the following sectors:
    • Fisheries and aquaculture
    • Food Safety (hygiene, cold-chain knowhow, packaging, warehousing, logistics, risk management and administration, evaluation, certification, monitoring)
    • Environment and Cleantech (water conservation, wastewater management, waste management, soil conservation, clean-up, consulting, EIA expertise, monitoring, evaluation, certification)
