R&D -PROJECTs
The Fish Innovation Centre carries out R&D projects, together with its partners in the following sectors: aquaculture, food processing, tourism and aquaculture technologies. The Fish Innovation Centre, offers its clients diverse project administration services to implement their own R&D.
The Fish Innovation Centre is also involved in the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute's research projects, and is focused on its role as applying science to company operations in the field. The Fish Research Unit of the University of Kuopio also provides a significant research environment for projects, especially those in the pilot stage.
The special needs of aquaculture, fishing and processing companies are focused upon in regional development work. Fishing and tourism have a significant role to play in the economy of Tervo and the North Savo region. The Fish Innovation Centre also moves to enhance and make more effective, the use of the stocks in the regional water bodies.
