REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The University of Kuopio, the Development Organization of Inner Savo, the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute and Teknia Ltd., have developed the food and fish processing industry in the North Savo region through the operations of the Fish Innovation Centre-project.
The image of the area, leading companies in aquaculture and fish processing and an internationally reknown scientific community have been the pillar through which the Fish Innovation Centre has developed the sector.
RESULTS
- Enhanced the competitiveness of aquaculture in the North Savo region
- Developed the economic use of fish stock in internal waters
- Carried out R&D operations to suit the needs of the industry
